Motorcycle Audio Installation

Among other services, Hi-Tech Car Audio also offers motorcycle audio installation to enhance your vehicle.

Over the years we’ve had requests to do systems on motorcycles. At first, these fell out of our area of expertise (car audio), and we resisted doing them.

But we soon changed our attitude about this when the demand grew and our willingness to take on the challenge did as well.

So we started taking on these jobs, failing forward and learning with each new system we installed. I’m sure you can imagine the HUGE learning curve we faced.

Today, however, we’re considered by many as one of the best motorcycle audio specialists around.

We’ve even bought our own Harley Roadglide, equipping it with a $13,000 dollar JL Audio system. It’s been dubbed “The concert on wheels”, and people come from all over Northern California to hear it(we’ve been told by veteran Harley riders it’s the best bike they’ve heard so far).

The sky is the limit when it comes to audio on bikes. You can keep it simple with a stereo and four speakers, or you can add amps and subwoofers with custom saddle bags to really give it some thunder.

If this sounds like something you’re interested in doing, feel free to bring your bike down so we can give it a run-through. Our technicians will be quick to put their imaginations to work and design a system to match your preferences.

Can you put a sound system on a motorcycle?

Yes, you can put a sound system on a motorcycle. A lot of motorcycles are designed to fit a stereo or a sound system, so you should have no issues installing one.

We’ve installed 1000’s of sound system motorcycles by now, and the biggest gripe we’ve heard is that rider’s don’t want to take up room in their saddlebags. So instead we install high quality speakers and tweeters in the fairings, along with speakers on their saddle lids.

We also install “small” amps that pack a punch usually behind the fairing. This makes for high volume sound that riders can hear over their exhausts.

What are the best speakers to put on a motorcycle?

The best speakers to put on a motorcycle are Pioneer and JL Audio. They’re loud enough to hear over the exhaust, but also clean sounding. This is true especially for JL Audio.

How Much Does it Cost to Put a Radio on a motorcycle?

The cost of putting a radio on a motorcycle will depend on the type of motorcycle and the chosen radio system. For most Harley’s the price range is $250 – $400. Other motorcycles can cost a bit more or less depending on the brand and model.

What is the best motorcycle sound system?

Hands down the best system for motorcycles is JL Audio. We’ve installed 1000’s of systems on Harley’s, Ducati’s and more, and have always found that JL Audio’s crisp sound is only matched by its brightness and volume; that’s what you want on a motorcycle – clean and loud. JL Audio delivers both.

At high volume, most speakers get trashy and distorted.. But JL Audio just sounds cleaner the more you crank the volume knob.
