Polyurethane is a versatile material that replaces paint, cotton, rubber, metal, and wood in many applications. It can be hard like fiberglass, soft like upholstery foam, protective like varnish, bouncy like rubber, or adhesive like glue. For our cones, this flexible material ensures durable, high-quality speakers.
Elasticity Redefined
Rubber, a synthetic material, is valued for its chemical inertness, air impermeability, and weather resistance. It finds diverse uses, from sports equipment and automotive parts to the medical field. We employ it in speaker Surrounds, which link the cone to the basket. Interestingly, chewing gum's elasticity comes from food-grade rubber, similar to the durability of our Rubber Surround in speakers.
Forging Sound Excellence
Die-casting offers benefits over stamped frames. It has improved Resonant Frequencies, absorbing and transferring speaker energy without vibrating like a bell. Also, die-cast frames are tougher and less prone to damage.
